Our Owners - Meet Courtney Hughes
Courtney is the Director of HR at Willow Oak, supporting clients in all things HR. Before that, she worked in the corporate world for about 10 years.
In her freetime, you can find her hanging with her husband and two kids, Jaxon & Mikaela, or cooking up new recipes.
Being plantbased herself, with an absolute passion for food and cooking, Courtney has been following Nutmeg for years now.
The branding, the whole ingredients, and the creative flavours have always stood out to her as a product that differentiates itself amongst the many plant-based alternative mylks. She is so excited to be a part of the Nutmeg journey, and can't wait to continue to get the product into the hands of even more Nutmeg lovers.
Meet Megan Hughes
Megan is the Founder and CEO at Willow Oak, supporting clients in all things Finance.
She founded the company after almost 10 years in the corporate World in industry accounting after realizing her passion for small businesses.
Outside of work, you can find her spending time with her husband and two kids, William & Kennedy, or finding new projects around her home.
Megan met Megan ;) back in 2019 when Nutmeg become one of Willow Oak’s first clients. She realized quickly how Nutmeg’s brand was aligned with her own values. Being plantbased herself, with a passion for wellness, quality and pretty things, Megan felt a connection early. The branding, simplicity of ingredients and smooth flavours stood out to her as a product she wanted in her home and for her family to enjoy.
She is so humbled to be a part of the Nutmeg journey, and is looking forward to learning all the intricacies of the business and continuing the exciting work Nutmeg has to offer.
Our Founder - Meet Megan Wallace
As an on-again, off-again vegetarian, I've always opted for dairy-free substitutes, but have never enjoyed the taste, consistency or ingredients used in store-bought nut milks. I fell in love with the taste and health benefits of homemade Nut Mylk and began experimenting with different ingredients, flavours, nuts and superfoods.
From there, our Mylks involved from home kitchen creations, to farmers markets, local grocery stores and now onto new formats with longer shelf-lives as well as the addition of coffee creamers.
Our brand has now evolved from a small artisanal operation to a larger scale Nut Mylk company servicing retailers all over BC now at a lower, more affordable price point as well as a larger volume sizes.
We've maintained the same passion and integrity for quality ingredients that support our customers health and well-being with incredible tasting Mylks that are in a league of their own when compared to conventional nut milk brands. We hope you love them as much as we do!
